What was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Seymour Eagles lacrosse team turned out to be a year of firsts. While the Eagles have grown accustomed to dominating the region and placing girls on the All-Region Team, this is the first season where all eight nominees were selected.
Seniors Olivia McCarrell, Jaylee Giffin and Jolee Davis led the way for the Eagles. Junior Emily Patterson was a first time selection. Sophomores McKenzie Cates and Delaney Duck were also first time selections. Freshman Kayla Harrington, who made her debut this season for the Eagles, was also selected. Rounding out the list was eighth grade phenom Leslie Clay. Clay is the first 8th grader in the history of the region to be selected.
Duck and Harrington were also selected to Team Tennessee, which will compete May 29th at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
