The Sevier County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a possible theft at White Star Market, to discover the suspect may be an employee of the same business.
Officer Jimmy Huddleston, who responded to the call, said White Star Market Owner Phil White said his store was short $300 Feb. 12 and $780 Feb. 13. White then said he suspected Sonny Cook, a current employee, as the culprit.
White said Cook was working both times the money was missing. Additionally, White produced security pictures of Cook conducting suspicious activity behind the counter and near the cash register.
Huddleston’s report states White did make these pictures available for the incident report. They have yet to be released as public record.... read the rest of the story by Subscribing now.
