Sevier County’s adolescent and teen pregnancy rates hit mid-range in comparison to the other counties in Tennessee according to Tennessee Department of Health (TDH).
“Sevier County pregnancy rates are calculated by the number of pregnancies per one thousand females ranging in age from 10 to 17 years of age,” explained Assistant Director of Media Relations Shelley L. Walker.
TDH officials state the total number of full term pregnancies in Sevier County for girls ages 10 to 17 years of age total 45 live births for year ending 2011. Statistical reports for 2012 pregnancy rates will be made available later in 2013.
