With no recent increases in minimum wages combined with the higher cost of basic food items and other necessities families in Seymour and South Knox are feeling the ever-tightening grip of living below the poverty line.
CNN reports, 2013 minimum wage, state-by-state ranges between the wage base line of $7.25 an hour to a maximum of $9.19 per hour. Tennessee’s minimum wage is $7.25 an hour with two sales taxes paid on all retail goods and services.
