Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) released Monday the completion and re-opening of the Henley Street Bridge has been extended to Feb. 28, 2014.
“Britton Bridge, LCC, faces daily penalties of $4,500 per day if the completion of the bridge goes past this new completion date,” stated TDOT Commissioner John Schroer.
One of the main issues that played a major part in the extra time extension is the additional work to the piers supporting the bridge. An additional $6 million in added costs to the project now has the total nearing $32 million.
