Walters State Community College will offer non-credit courses for individuals interested in four healthcare careers: certified nursing assistant, registered dental assistant, clinical medical assistant and phlebotomy technician.

In the Certified Nursing Assistant course, students learn to perform basic routine patient care in various health care facilities including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals and home health agencies. Students completing the course will be eligible to apply for the Tennessee State Certification Examination for Nurse Assistant licensure.

The Registered Dental Assistant course teaches the skills needed in a dental office. Students learn to prepare patients for exams, sterilize equipment, radiography, patient education and more.

The Clinical Medical Assistant program trains students to assist physicians in the clinical responsibilities involved in the operation of a medical office.
