The Seymour eagle wrestling team captured the District 5 championship by completing the last leg of competition defeating Sevier County and South-Doyle in a dual match at Seymour High School recently.

The wins also give Seymour the IMAC Championship and the right to host region duals Jan. 24.

The match with South-Doyle wasn’t close as the Eagles flogged the Cherokees 66 to 8, giving the Eagles their first win over them in 3 years.
