Putting yet another knot in the Tennessee Department of Transportation plan for the proposed James White Parkway extension, South Knoxville residents came out in droves to fill the South-Doyle Middle School auditorium and oppose the project Dec. 6.
The extension project, which has existed in various forms since the 1960s, was created with the intention of alleviating the increasingly dangerous traffic levels on Chapman Hwy.
According to the TDOT presentation there is an estimated traffic volume of 36,000 vehicles traveling Chapman Hwy. north of Moody Ave. per day.... read the rest of the story by Subscribing now.
