            Tame Impala’s psychedelic sounds captivated the audience at their sold-out show in New York City. They refer to themselves as making “psychedelic hypno-groove melodic rock music.” With their live sound unbelievably sounding just as good as their recorded tracks, Tame Impala created a constant swaying throughout the crowd. The live band now consists of Kevin Parker on vocals and guitar; Jay Watson with synths and guitar; Dom Simper on guitar; Nick Allbrook playing base; and Julien Barbagaloo with drums. With strong musical talent from this group, the pleasing harmonies, both vocal and instrumental, heard on the recorded tracks are also translated to their live show. Being named Best New Music by Pitchfork and receiving Album of the Year for Innerspeaker from Rolling Stone Awards are difficult feats, but it is clear Tame Impala deserved such titles, already having more sold-out concerts in places such as Los Angeles and Australia, where the band is originally from. Unfortunately the band is now headed out of the United States to tour; however, purchasing their pleasing music in the form of iTunes, CDs, and records will have to hold fans over until their tour returns.
