As part of a community effort to provide for local support for Seymour residents, a coat and blanket drive will be held at Seymour Church of Christ Nov. 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The event is a distribution of free coats and blankets to anyone in the community who needs help staying warm this winter. Volunteers and church members will be present to help facilitate the function.

“I got involved because I learned there are a lot more needy people in Seymour than I had I thought,” said Melissa McBroom, an organizer for the event.

All items are on a first-come-first-serve basis and have been gathered through donations.  Currently, there are more than 100 items being sorted for the drive and the list continues to grow.
