Supporters of Sevier County’s Relay For Life will dedicate the Relay For Life Memorial Brickway at Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge Nov. 3 at 11 a.m.
The memorial is designed to encourage support for those who are facing cancer, remember those lost to cancer, and to encourage the residents of the county to fight back against cancer. Engraved bricks and pavers will been permanently placed along the walking track on the south side of Patriot Park, next to the campground.
“Cancer affects all of us in some way, whether directly or indirectly,” said Sevierville Mayor and Relay For Life chair, Bryan Atchley, who is a cancer survivor himself. “Cancer does not discriminate. Statistics tell us one in three people will be diagnosed with a form of cancer at some point in their lifetime.
“The Relay For Life Memorial Brickway provides an ongoing opportunity for everyone to participate in the fight against cancer, so that we can find a cure and eliminate those statistics,” Atchley added.
