In compliance with Government Auditing Standards issued by Comptroller General of the United States, Sevier County Schools will be audited.

The audit will be conducted by professional accounting corporation Mitchell, Emert, and Hill for the dates of July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013.

The documentation of the audit states that it is designed to obtain reasonable, but not absolute assurance of detecting fraud.

“This is a very standard thing the state requires us to do on a yearly basis,” said Sevier County Assitant Superintendent of Personal and Support Services Jim Wade. “It is actually a formed contract by the State.”
