The soaring temperatures of the last few weeks have altered summer cookout plans for many and the results have in-turn driven prices down for at least one particular industry.
Randy Suttles, Manager of Sevier County Propane, said the recent string of heat waves have led to a surplus of propane and therefore caused the price of the clean burning gas to drop.
“Propane pricing has come down anywhere from 15 to 20 percent because consumption has been down,” Suttles said. “Pricing last year was about as low as it has ever been.”
Currently filling is $14.75 for 20 pounds of gas weight at Sevier County Propane whereas most propane exchanges offered by convenience stores round-out to nearly $20 for the same amount.

Please for business sake do spell check on articles before publishing them. There are several typos in this article and Mr. SUTTLES gave his bussiness card to the reporter who came and yet his name was wrong in the entire article. The article also was not quoted correctly to the questions asked. Some to point of not making sense. We all make mistakes and I’m sure you are proud of your newspaper as well you should be, but when errors like this make two companies look bad it seems it would be a time to step back and take a look at what happened to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
