The Tennessee men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams have released their 2010-11 schedules, which feature three regular season events at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center and the 2012 Southeastern Conference Championships.
The Lady Vols will start the season with two meets on the road, as the squad travels to Wilmington, N.C. for a dual meet on Sept. 30 and the UNCW Open Water Swim on Oct. 1.
The men will open with the annual Orange and White exhibition meet on Oct.13, with the women holding the event a day later on the 14th.
Both squads will then host a double dual meet against Big Ten Conference member Indiana and SEC foe Kentucky on Oct. 22. Five days later the Orange and White travels to Louisville, Ky., to take on the Cardinals on the 27th.
Tennessee will have its first road SEC dual match on Nov. 5 when the squads travel to Columbia, S.C. to face off against South Carolina. Following a nearly two week hiatus, the teams return to action by hosting the annual Tennessee Invitational that will feature Kentucky, Louisville, LSU and Texas A&M over Nov. 16-18.
The lone meet in December will take place in Atlanta, Ga., when UT heads to the campus of Georgia Tech for the USA Swimming Winter Nationals from Dec. 1-3.
January begins with the Big Orange divers traveling to Athens, Ga. for the UGA Diving Invitational over Jan. 3-5. The first dual meet of the New Year will also be on the road, when the teams travel to Athens to face off against the Bulldogs on Jan. 21.
Senior Day will be on Jan. 28, when Florida invades Rocky Top to conclude the regular season.
The AJIAC will serve as the host of the SEC Championships Feb. 15-18. It will be the first time the AJIAC hosts the conference meet, as the Student Aquatic Center served host for the conference meet in 2006.
Prior to NCAA meets, the Vols and Lady Vols will host the Last Chance meet from Feb. 24-25, followed by traveling to Auburn, Ala. for the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships over March 10-12.
Auburn’s James E. Martin Aquatics Center will host the NCAA Women’s Championships over March 15-17.
The University of Seattle will serve as the host site for the Men’s NCAA Championships on March 22-24 in Federal Way, Wash., at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.
