The Pets without Parents Shelter is holding a fundraiser this weekend in Sevierville.
The recently opened shelter is Sevier County’s first no-kill facility and as a non-profit organization, they depend on the community’s generosity.  They are always in need of dog and cat food, cleaning supplies and fosters.
To help cut into those needs, a fundraiser garage sale is being held this Saturday at Tennessee Hot Tubs on Newport Highway and the shelter will be holding an Adopt-A-Thon the same day.
Lory Popps with Pets without Parents said they are still in need of items for the garage sale, which will also include a bake sale.  In addition to the dogs and cats already at the shelter, seven new Lab puppies and several Huskies were recently taken in, all of which Popps hoped would find a home during the Adopt-A-Thon.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Anyone seeking more information on the shelter and the available pets can check out their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PetsWithoutParents.
Pets without Parents Shelter is located at 1408 Old Newport Highway.
