After a used utility vehicle was donated to a Seymour High School athletic team, a local business owner offered to spruce it up a bit.
The vehicle was donated to the SHS Softball Team by a local agency, which would like to remain anonymous, and Paul Walker, owner of Walker’s Automotive Collision Repair in Seymour, recently repainted and restored the used 4-wheeler for no charge.
“The high school came by the shop and asked me what I would charge to paint the Gator,” Walker said. “It was in bad shape, it was all faded and the seats were torn and everything else.
“I told them to leave it with us so we could see what we could do with it and we wouldn’t charge them a dime.”
Walker and his crew worked on the vehicle for about a week, repainting it in the school colors, and replacing the fenders, seats and other various parts.
“It looks brand new now,” Walker said.
He added that it was his pleasure to help the school out.
“I like Seymour, I like our little town,” he said. “The people at the Seymour schools have been very good to me and my daughter who currently goes to Seymour.
“I just wanted to give back to them.”
Seymour High School Athletic Director Gary Householder said that this is the school’s fourth utility vehicle and they really come in handy on the fields.
