Beginning this week and lasting through early July 2011, KUB and its contractor will implement ongoing daily closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the southbound curbside lane of Chapman Highway as part of a natural gas main replacement project.
Construction will begin at the Woodlawn Pike intersection and proceed south on Chapman Highway to Linford Road.
The scope of work and the impacted area will vary daily from location to location as this work progresses. Lane reductions may be required, but a minimum of one southbound lane will remain open at all times.
The center turn lane and both northbound lanes will also remain open. All lanes will be re-opened to traffic each night during this period.
Follow-up traffic advisories will be issued as warranted for the duration of this project.
Some utility-related closures may extend beyond the scheduled times, depending on conditions encountered during excavation and construction.
Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at this location to assist motorists traveling in the area.
Due to the ongoing presence of workers and equipment, motorists are advised to use extreme caution and expect temporary delays in this area.
