The Seymour Choral Department will hold its annual Veterans Day program over three days next week.
The program, which is in its 17th year, will honor the community’s Veterans with refreshments and entertainment performed by the Choral Department.
It will feature oldies music, classics, patriotic tunes and will also feature an original arrangement of “Amazing Grace” written by SHS student Andrea Markowitz.
This year’s program will differ slightly from years past.
It will feature a piano duet, and children from Boyd’s Creek Elementary will also join the chorus for three different numbers.
“We have people that come from all over,” said SHS Choral Director Jean Burkhart. “People will even come from out of state to see the Veterans Day program.
“People that don’t even have children in the program come out to see it. We invite Veterans from all across the community.”
While the program is performed primarily by the Choral Department, four members of the SHS Marching Band will provide a color guard as well.
The program will be hosted Nov. 4 at 1:30 and 7 p.m., Nov. 5 at 1:30 p.m. and Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at Seymour High School.
Admission is free and all Veterans are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served in the SHS library immediately following each program.
For more information call Seymour High School at 577-7040 or email Jean Burkhart at jeanburkhart@sevier.org.
