Motorists will soon notice new detour signs and construction along the official Tennessee Department of Transportation detour route as preparations for the Henley Bridge project begin.
TDOT contractor Britton Bridge, LLC will begin work soon to prepare to close the Henley Bridge the first week of January 2011.
On Tuesday, October 26, TDOT, Britton Bridge, LLC and Thompson Engineering will share the latest details and timeline for the preparations, detour, closure and work schedule with community leaders, emergency workers, business owners, residents and motorists.
Due to the limited space at the Henley Bridge Community Center at 220 East Blount Avenue, TDOT will offer two meetings on October 26, from 3 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m.
A website has been created to find out more about the project and the detours. You can get more details at www.tn.gov/henley. You can also follow the project updates on twitter at twitter.com/HenleyBridge.
