The Maryville College men’s golf program traveled to Tunica, Mississippi to participate in the 2010 Rhodes College Classic this weekend.
Playing in difficult conditions with winds ranging from 25 to 40 MPH, the Scots struggled to an opening round of 327. MC finished the opening day 30 strokes behind the leader as senior Trey Bridwell and Jeremy Cason each paced the squad with an opening round of 80.
The Scots closed out the tournament on Monday with a second round 319 to finish 15th in the 20 team event. Bridwell was the only Highlander to break par with a 69 and a two-day total of 149. His effort earned him a fifth place tournament finish.
Additional team tournament scores for Maryville include: Cason 80-78-158, Tim Palmer 86-82-162, JT Randolph 83-90-173, and Joey Leegaard 84-90-174.
Coach Ron Waters’ squad will begin preparation for a challenge against Bryan College on Oct. 2 at Bear Trace Golf Course in Crossville, Tennessee.
