The Knoxville Utility Board and its contractor, Pike Electric, will implement daily intermittent road and lane closures in Seymour for at least another week.
     The lane and road closures are along sections of Old Sevierville Pike, W. Union Valley Road, and Porterfield Gap Road from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
     The closures are to facilitate the placement of utility poles and overhead lines as part of an ongoing electric system upgrade in the Shooks Gap-Seymour area.
     Some closures may extend beyond the scheduled times depending on the conditions encountered during construction.
     Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place at each location to assist motorists traveling in these areas.
     Due to the ongoing presence of working and equipment, motorists are advised to use caution and expect temporary delays in these areas.
