It’s been a long and hard fight fought in congress and according to our president, we deserve an up or down vote.
I submit that we are way past the up or down vote.
Seems to me like the people have spoken, yelled, picketed, posted, and pontificated until they are fed up with it.
Fed up with what you ask? The topic of most presidential conversation – Health Care.
But it’s a catch 22.
How can anyone be against Health Care?
That’s like saying how can anyone be against a community ball park.
You’ve got to be against kids and fun and healthy exercise if you’re against a ballpark.
Yet, that’s exactly what happened here in Seymour just off of North Knob Creek. The Optimist Club acquired a lease from the county to put in a ballpark adjacent to a two lane narrow road.
The road has hairpin turns, is next to a creek and has had numerous accidents. The locals were afraid for the lack of parking, the additional traffic, the increased number of individuals that might frequent the ballpark.
It all could be a problem with not only safety, but also theft and vandalism.
As a result local neighbors were appalled because they felt that their Seymour Commissioners acted inappropriately. There was no help from them. On the contrary, it appeared some of the commissioners actually forced the lease through the county.
Some of the commissioners were even accused of miss-speaking. Can you image that?
As a result the neighborhood banded together and filed a lawsuit which, after a year, was resolved, but apparently the terms of the settlement have not been met by the Optimist Club, according to some of the residents.
But the point I’m trying to make is that on the surface it seems ridiculous to be against something so American as a ballpark.
Yet, when you look at all the facts, it makes sense to reject the ballpark at that location at this time.
Same with the Health Care agenda the President is forcing upon the American People.
It seems he’s hard of hearing, reading, seeing, or believing anything other than what he and his number three in command, Pelosi have decided to attempt to do no matter what.
I’m sorry, but it’s time to call a shovel a shovel. And I don’t mean that in a derogatory way.
When the President of the United States tells people one thing and does another, what kind of leadership do we have.
Many say he’s attempting to drive us away from Christianity and Democracy.
My question is – why are we allowing it?!
The President and every other elected official is our public servant. Many have forgotten that point.
They each take an oath before entering office. It seems to me that our obligation is to make certain they fulfill that obligation. Otherwise it’s time for them to move on.
And if you think the government is too big, simple start small. Have you ever heard that if you want to eat an elephant, do it a bite at a time.
And remember that even an elephant has fears. Elephants are scared to death of mice.
We might seem insignificant to many of the elected officials, but we carry a big bat. It’s our vote.
Don’t ever forget the pen is mightier than the sword.
We need to get out and vote. If you don’t like something, get out and vote for the right person.
We seem to have several great politicians in office that are and have been fighting the Health Care pill the President is trying to shove down our throats and that’s why my hat’s off to them.
Holding our public servants accountable and voting them out if they aren’t. That’s all there is to it.
Nothing complicated.
Just do it.
