What does Seymour have in common with the G-20?  The  G-20 is very much concerned with the world economy, here in Seymour our local, state and national economy of course runs closer to home.  This year the G-20 is meeting in Pittsburgh, PA.  And naturally the streets are full of hot heads who have no answers.  Far more important to destroy public and private property.  I still don’t see that offering solutions except proving we are as uncivilized as much of the world that is considered civilized, at least this troublesome situation isn’t over a soccer game.  “How much in taxpayer money was spent on additional security and police protection?”
Mentioning Pittsburg reminds me of when I was a tad we went to Pittsburg from time to time from Morgantown, WV.
Generally we arrived well after dark and I was asleep, along with my brother in the back seat.  I usually woke up as we were leaving the tunnel with a panoramic view of the big city.  You could see the billowing black smoke from the steel mills and the red and orange flames from the fire pits, a scary situation to be sure.  I would start screaming and yelling that I had been a good boy and didn’t want to go to hell.  That was because that was how that place was depicted by my Sunday school teacher.
We here in the Seymour area are generally on an even keel and pretty well behaved.  Of course we do have some individuals with their own ideas of what they will and will not do in accordance with law at any level of government.
A few months before the last national census I was recruited by the Bureau of the Census to work part time, as the murdered census worker was.  I spent nearly five years as a member of the armed forces, and thirty five years as a federal officer.  There were places where I was sent to do census preparation work, here in our tri county area.  Some of these places were beautiful and tranquil, other places were just there, leaving no lasting impression.  Then came the places that I was met with all kinds of threats including being met at the door with a shotgun, or warning signs.  I do however have very good and some very surprising memories.  (Life goes on . . . most of the time).  Got lemons, make lemonade.
God works in unusual ways, accept his decisions and go where He directs, give what he desires, help your brothers and sisters.  In that direction we are still trying to raise money for a lift for the Phillips family van so as to be able to carry Tim around a bit.  If you have helped, God bless you, if not; please look into your heart.  I don’t know exactly whence it comes but I have heard that the bigger the window you give through the bigger you will receive through, thank you and I hope that you will be rewarded.
