SEVIERVILLE – There’s light at the end of the paperwork tunnel for Frank and Niccetta Monteleone.
The couple has been pushing Sevier County officials to participate in the National Flood Insurance Program since they received notice from their lender in April 2008 that they must carry flood insurance on their home.
And according to Sevier County Planner Jeff Ownby, that should happen in March or April if the Sevier County Commission agrees to join the program. Homeowners would see their flood insurance premiums drop by 25 to 40 percent.
