KNOXVILLE – Members of the Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra Association are gearing up for their second performance of the season.
This free concert, supported by First Tennessee Foundation, will feature performances from members of all five orchestras in the Association – Junior Philharmonia, Philharmonia, Sinfonia, Youth Chamber Orchestra and the Youth Orchestra.
The concert, scheduled for 7 p.m. Mon., Feb. 23, at the Tennessee Theatre, will open with the Junior Philharmonia, beginner string players under the baton of Erin Archer, performing an arrangement of Haydn’s St. Anthony Chorale and an arrangement of “Jupiter” from Holst’s The Planets.
The Philharmonia, consisting of string players with minimal orchestral experience under the baton of Katie Hutchinson, will take the stage next.
