In his swan song season, Seymour head coach Gary Householder is going out in style.

Householder, who announced before the season that this would be his last turn as the Eagles' head football coach after a career that has spanned over three decades, directed the Eagles to their sixth straight win Friday in a rain-soaked 41-8 thumping of Region 1-3A foe Claiborne County in New Tazewell.

Seymour's victory over the Bulldogs sealed the Eagles' first Region 1-3A Championship since 2003.

Householder will coach his final regular-season home game Friday night as conference nemesis Gibbs visits Benton Householder stadium to cap Seymour's regular season grid. Seymour (7-2 overall, 5-0 region 1-3A) will host a state playoff game Friday, November 7.
