Sevierville (TN) – Executive Producer and entertainment lawyer for the film “Dancing in the Wilderness”, Mr. Hal "Corky" Kessler of Chicago, IL, will arrive in Sevierville on July 18 to begin scouting possible locations for the motion picture “Dancing in the Wilderness” in Sevierville. He will be joined by screen writers Joseph Cook and Rob McGee as well as attorney Don Weimer from Wilmington, NC. The group will be guests at the Kodak home of Samanthia and Bill Cassidy. The motion picture will be based on Samanthia’s autobiography, also titled “Dancing in the Wilderness”.
Kessler is an entertainment law veteran who regularly speaks on the business and legal aspects of feature film and television projects. He has successfully worked with governors and United States Congressmen in several states to implement new laws and federal tax incentives for investments in qualifying film and television projects, which led to Sections 181 and 199 of the American Jobs Creation act of 2004 as well as authored a reference book covering such federal and state tax incentives. He has also produced motion pictures and television projects such as "The Sum of Us" with Russell Crowe and "Certifiably Jonathon" starring Jonathon Winters, Robin Williams, Howie Mandel, Rob Reiner, Martin Mull, Jim Carrey, Dana Carvey, Lili Tomlin, Sara Silverman and others. Kessler has set up film funds all over the country and has been the attorney for over 14 feature films and 8 more in development.
Kessler will be present at a media event on Saturday July 19 in downtown Sevierville and all members of the press and the public are invited to welcome the project.
On scouting locations for the motion picture in Sevierville, Cassidy says, “There are so many beautiful places in Sevier County that resemble where I was raised in Northern Alabama and Northern Mississippi that I think this area could be ideal for shooting ‘Dancing in the Wilderness.’”
“I am more than thrilled about my life story becoming a motion picture,” says Cassidy.
“Dancing in the Wilderness” is a true story of a hard life written and lived by Samanthia Cassidy. She says, “I learned how to dance in the wilderness of life and came out with a heart of love and determination to help others find this peace that I now have. Hopefully through this story I can teach others to dance too.”
