MountainBrook Village, a premier retirement community situated on the Little Pigeon River in Sevierville, is pleased to announce the grand opening of their new all male Alzheimer's unit, The Lodge.
The owners, Jim Coxwell and John Watson, and their staff welcome Mayor Atchley, local business owners and friends tot he ribbon cutting on January 16, 2008. The guests were then treated to a personal tour through the new facility.
The new unit consists of eight individual bedrooms with adjoining private baths. The centrally located common area contains a dining room, TV and visitation seating and a separate nursing station. The building has a large attached deck with built-in benches, which leads directly into a secured, fenced activity area. Caregivers are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week and have been trained in Alzheimer's care and behavior needs.
MountainBrook Village has a similar unit, which has been reserved for female Alzheimer's residents. The property also encompasses apartments for independent residents and an Assisted Living facility.
