A hard-fought 58-51 overtime win over Berean Christian Friday night allowed the Seymour Eagles (4-11, 0-2) to go into Tuesday night’s pivotal District 3-AA contest at Gibbs on a winning note.
In the Eagles second victory over the small Knoxville private school this year—Seymour defeated the Eagles of Berean 64-49 at SHS on Nov. 20—head coach Randy Moore’s Seymour squad overcame a 16-1 first-quarter Berean lead before winning the game in overtime.
“For us to come back after being down 16-1, I thought our boys showed a lot of courage,” said Moore. “Berean is a good, scrappy team but I think our boys are getting better.
“We’re 3-3 since Christmas and that’s not bad,” Moore added. “We’ve got Gibbs and Fulton coming up and we’ll have our work cut out for us against both of those teams.... read the rest of the story by Subscribing now.
