A car ran off a steep embankment Thursday afternoon seriously injuring the sole female occupant of the vehicle.

The driver was in the wreck for five hours before being discovered.

The Seymour Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to 1410 Deer Trail Way on a motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle that was reported to have gone down an embankment around the property owner's driveway.

Upon arrival, SVFD found a 1995 Pontiac Vibe down a 60 foot embankment on a 70 degree incline.
