For the third year in a row Kenny Chesney has won the trophy of entertainer of the year which was presented at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on May 15th.

Newcomer Carrie Underwood won album of the year for her debut CD "Some Hearts" and was honored as top female vocalist.
George Strait was honored at the ceremony and he was awarded with eight nominations the first award of the night for song of the year "Give it Away".

Brooks and Dunn won unprecedented 14th vocal duo award while Miranda Lambert won new female vocalist, and Brad Paisley was named male vocalist of the year. Rascal Flatts captured best vocal group
