The residents of Seymour that were here 30 years ago have been over-shadowed by the tremendous influx of new inhabitants and the associated “baggage”.
With the new residents has come commerce. Businesses have constructed new buildings and opened their doors to offer their services.
For Lease and For Sale signs are up everywhere in Seymour.
What is that telling us? Is Seymour over built in anticipation of the immediate future growth? Or is it a sign of the economy slowing down?
Maybe it’s both.

The next major visual object is a billboard, signs and older buildings.
The banks seemed to be the newest buildings until you get to Zaxby’s, which is under construction.

Now, while there is a lull, is a perfect time to consider if Seymour is going to have a say in it’s own future direction.
As I mentioned last week, there is a group getting together to form an advisory counsel for incorporating a corporation.
From what I know about it at this point, it’s a step for Seymour who’s time has come.
In that way, we won’t look back 20 years from today and say, “Why didn’t we do this before we got in this mess?”
