Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community is the only zoned crafts community in the United States, and comprises Glades Road, Buckhorn Road, and the section of East Parkway that connects these two roads in Gatlinburg. About 100 artists and craftspeople can be found within the loop, with talents and trades as varied as painting on numerous media, woodcarving, jewelry and broom making, and ceramic offerings of functional art.
In addition to ongoing craft demonstrations by the artists, the Special Events office of Gatlinburg Department of Tourism has supplied musical entertainment for festival-goers with the scheduling of numerous Appalachian/folk music acts throughout the nine day festival along with the performers that can customarily be found at several of the shops along the trail.
