The City of Sevierville Public Works Department announces that road repairs will be made on Old Douglas Dam Road beginning Monday, September 19, 2005 and ending on Tuesday, September 20, 2005, weather permitting. The work will take place on each day from 8:30AM – 4:30PM.
Local traffic will be maintained will work is in progress, however, thru traffic will not be allowed.
The bridge on Old Douglas Dam Road will be closed to all traffic between 8:30AM – 4:30PM each day. The bridge will be open to traffic after 4:00PM each day.After the Public Works Department completes the necessary repairs, the road will be resurfaced. A date for the resurfacing has not yet been scheduled.

Four Pigeon Forge special events have been recognized for outstanding achievement at the 50th Annual International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) Convention and Expo Experience in San Antonio.
The events were chosen from more than 1,500 entries submitted from organizations worldwide.
A Mountain Quiltfest received a Gold Award for Best Event Program Booklet and a Silver Award for Best Educational Event. Pigeon Forge Winterfest was awarded Gold for the Best Promotional Brochure.
Wilderness Wildlife Week took two honors, a Gold for Best Environmental Event and a Bronze for Best Educational Event. A Silver Award for Best Hat went to the cap designed for the 2005 Dolly Parade.
IFEA awards acknowledge the marketing and programming efforts in the special events industry. The organization is headquartered in Boise, Idaho, and is comprised of nearly 3,000 members.
The award-winning Pigeon Forge Winterfest will kickoff for the 16th season on Nov. 3 in Patriot Park. The 16th Annual Wilderness Wildlife Week will take place Jan. 7-15, while the 12th Annual A Mountain Quiltfest is scheduled for March 8-12.
