Seymour Intermediate School will soon have new neighbors at their back door. As the little town of Seymour continues to expand, housing developers are continuing to find available land to set up subdivisions.
Hillside Estates is the name of the most recent subdivision scheduled to take up roots in the Seymour area. Currently, it is a 27-acre piece of land but will soon have up to 56 homes on it. It is located directly behind the intermediate school on the intersection of North Pitner Road and Sevierville Pike. According to Tania Wilson of Heath Shuler Real Estate, the land home packages will start in the $130,000 range and will vary from 1400-2200 square feet. Three homes are already under contract and beginning construction and three more spec homes are completed and already for sale.
Being located directly near a school is an advantage for homeowners, as quality restrictions will be enforced. The underground utilities will maintain the view that each site has and the wide streets will elicit homeowners’ easy access to their all brick homes.
“Seymour has a country feel yet is still close enough to the larger cities in that it makes it a wonderful place to live,” said Wilson. “I’ve been in Seymour 21 years and have seen drastic changes in growth. It continues to expand every year!”
Wilson, along with Mary Lu Atchley has seen the little community develop annually. With subdivisions emerging continuously, people are apparently finding the area a pleasant place to reside. Majestic Meadows, another subdivision recently opened up lots and homes for sale down Boyds Creek. This is in addition to the already numerous housing developments including Cherokee Hills which holds almost 500 residents. “Seymour isn’t a little town anymore,” commented Wilson, who is confident that there will always be a small-town feel to Seymour.
