The 2004 Seymour Rotary Club’s Charity Golf Tournament is set for Wednesday, April 14, beginning with a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. at Eagles Landing Golf Course. Lunch and registration starts at noon.
It will be held in a four-man swat format with no handicaps
The entry fee is $75 per person or $300 per team. The entry fee includes green fees, cart and lunch.
There will be a $500 gift certificate awarded to the first place finisher. A $400 gift certificate will be given to the second place finisher and a $300 gift certificate prize awarded to third place. Door prizes will be given away as well as prizes for a closest to the hole contest and a longest drive contest.
“The Seymour Breakfast Rotary Club’s annual golf tournament is our biggest event each year,” stated Seymour Rotary President Walt Grubb. “All the funds we raise provide college scholarships for Seymour area youth. The event is a very fun day for a great cause.”
Grubb said that proceeds from the tournament would go to benefit Seymour’s young people and their goals of higher education. He would like to see more area businesses get involved to help spark more revenue.
“We are excited about doing this again for the young people of our community,” he added. “We would love to see more Sevier County people play in the tournament and even more businesses get behind the tournament as overall sponsors or hole sponsors. I can’t think of a better way for our community to pull together for a common purpose.”
