Bass tournament to support athletics

The Walters State Community College Athletic Department will hold its Sixth Annual Bass Tournament on Saturday, April 10, from 7 a.m.—3p.m., at the Cherokee Dam.
The tournament will feature a boat as the grand prize plus $3,000 in guaranteed prize money. Proceeds from the event will benefit Senators athletics programs.
The entry fee for the partner-tournament is $70 per boat. There is an optional $10 fee for those who wish to compete in the lunker large and small mouth competition.
The first place team will take home G3 jon boat. Other prizes are second place, $800; third place, $600; fourth, $400; and fifth place, $300. Sixth place will receive $250; seventh place, $200; eighth place, $150; ninth place, $125; tenth place, $100; eleventh place, $75; and twelfth place, two country hams. Lunker prizes will be determined by the number of participants. Door prizes will also be given away.
Pre-paid registration is encouraged. Participants will blast off in order of registration. The tournament is sponsored by Linda’s Lakeside Marine, G3 Boats, Pepsi and the Citizen Tribune.
