Seymour manager moves to new store
The lights are on, the cameras are rolling, and the curtain is up on Blockbuster Video’s new location on the Parkway in Sevierville.
Alice Wagner, 10-year veteran of the company and store manager at the new location, is excited to be open at last. She was offered the new store following her tenure managing the Seymour location inside Kroger.
“We’re very happy with the facilities here,” Wagner said, “and the location is excellent.”
Wagner and her management staff hired the crew three weeks ago, and have been training them in the interim in the Blockbuster philosophy.
“We’re not just a video store,” Wagner stated. “When you come in, we’re ready to give you the information you need to make informed choices about your entertainment,” she said, stressing the service skills of her staff.
“We’ve really got everything here,” Wagner continued. “Our strengths are wide variety, a huge quantity, and outstanding customer service.”
The store will offer several specials in honor of the new store’s opening. “We’re presenting three movies for $8.99, or two games for the same price, for the first four weeks we are open,” Wagner said.
The doors swung open on Thursday evening, February 19, for the first time at around 7 p.m.. There was a line of eager customers awaiting the opportunity to sample the new outlet’s offerings.
The store plans a grand opening the weekend of Saturday, February 28, with face painting for the kids and a clown to greet younger guests.
Blockbuster is the first tenant of the newly refurbished shopping center one block south of the intersection of Forks of the River and the Parkway.
The center has been renovated to match the prevailing “old city” style now all the rage in business architecture in this region.
