The Seymour Boys Scouts Troop 585 were treated to a special presentation by Senator Raymond Finney last night.
Senator Finney spoke to the troop of the greatest government in the world, the United States government.
“We are in danger of loosing the greatest government in the world because people are not showing up to vote,” the senator told the scouts.
Following the Senator’s presentation he opened the floor for questions.
One of the questions was ‘What two bills did he get passed as a result of information he received from kids’?
The Senator told of two instances during the past two years where kids had given him suggestions to make new laws.
“One of the laws I got passed with Senator Black was the anti bullying law. The other was a law dealing with the school cafeteria relating to the prevention of children being affected by allergic reaction to certain foods.
The scouts and parents were very thankful for the Senator’s time.
